100’s of Air Canada Pilots on strike this fall ? Pilots of Air Canada may go on strike within weeks if the negotiation may not reach the agreement said, Pilot association representing the Pilots of Air Canada. ALPA The Air line Pilot association said they are almost ready to go strike but they don’t want the work to get stopped and create a mess for the passengers.
As we should not forget West jet one of the major Canadas airline where the mechanics union went on strike in July over the Canada Day weekend. The strike disrupted the travel plans of more than 100,000 travellers. Later on west jet reached the agreement and went back to the work. In less than 2 weeks cooling period will begin ending amid September. Several rounds of conversation and negotiations have been took place between the union and airline between January and June. At the end of June they have entered the cooling period of Federal consultation.
In case the agreement doest not meet the airline pilots may go on strike as said earlier they are already prepared.
Charlene Hudy, ALPA’s Air Canada Master Executive Council (MEC) chair, told Global News that we are fighting for our rights and our demands like fair compensation, respectable retirement benefits, and quality-of-life improvements are among the major concerns. Hudy said that we want to avoid the strike as we have seen some positive talks on the table and expect some progress. Also, some of the agreements have been reached.
Airline Air Canada Pilots are plannig currently in the process of a strike vote, which closes on 22 August 2024
